There’s just something magical about watching ancient cars being driven as hard as they will go in competition, right? Whether it is vintage drag racing iron, old stock cars, or even old tractors at a pull, seeing the past come to life and seeing it get wrung out is just plain awesome. The same goes for road racing and the cool factor gets ratcheted up even higher when the cars are nearly 100 years old and running wheel to wheel as hard as they will go!
In this film from the Goodwood Members Meeting we see three ancient machines getting absolutely wrung out. These guys have them sideways, they are flat footing down the straights, and they are 100% racing wheel to wheel as seriously as it can possibly be done. They are fighting traffic and each other in this clip. You will see multiple lead changes and you’ll see some wildly different cars on the track at the same time. The massive Delage and Sunbeam running against the little flyweight (Darraq, we think) is fun stuff.
