Hang On! Ride Inside A 1960s Porsche 911 For An Awesome, Sideways Lap Of Spa!

Note the position of the steering wheel and the route of the road course in this video. Yeah, there’s a significant difference in both of those things. Classic Porsches are among the coolest looking, neatest sounding, and dangerous cars to drive at their full potential. Why? Their rear engine layout and propensity to swap ends at the drop of a hat made them both fun to watch and fearsome. Modern engineering and technology has changed the mighty 911 in many ways. Sure, it can still sneak up on the unsuspecting behind the wheel but the reality is that there are enough electronic saviors to prevent those lacking in talent from meeting their untimely demise.

None of that stuff existed in the 1960s and thusly, this awesome race car has none of it.

Ollie Bryant is the driver of the car and Bryant is no stranger to the electronic pages of BangShift as we have captured his steering wheel greatness more than a couple of times here. This is one of the most fun road racing videos we have watched because you know that Bryant was both having the time of his life and working his backside off the whole time. The slides are not corrected in a panicked fashion. Nope, they are artfully manipulated so that the car returns to center and carries on. This dude is the man and boy is he fun to watch drive.

When you see how much of a handful this thing is to the likes of a guy like Bryant, imagine someone who has less than half the ability trying to make sense of the car. That’s a scary thought! We’ve seen plenty of Spa laps but this is the one we think may be the coolest of all.
