All the competitors have gone home or have moved onto other events. Most of the cars are parked for the year, and some of the competition for next year have just come out of shops across the country to begin the shakedown process for the 2015 racing season. The 2014 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational was undoubtedly the hardest fought and fastest one in history. With nearly 100 cars vying for the title it was Danny Popp in his blue 2003 Corvette (shown above) that lead everyone when the ships were down and the points were counted. A standout performance in the hot lap portion of the contest as well as the RideTech autocross led him to that victory.
While Popp was the big winner we’d argue that everyone that made the show was a winner on some level. That’s because the were either granted a spot due to having an awesome or unique car or they raced their way in by competing at USCA series events across the country. There was not a weak sister in the bunch this year and as we showed you earlier in the week the crowd ranged from angry orange Pintos to pure exotica. Very cool, indeed.
For one last time, here’s a photo rundown of the event and below that is a link to the final results of the 2014 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational!
