(Photos by Mike Brooks) – Every year, the Lakeshore Street Rod Association puts on their annual Harbor Cruise show right on the scenic Lake Erie shoreline in Dunkirk NY. The show never ceases to impress and continues to grow year after year. Being that this is my hometown show, I’ve had the opportunity to watch this event since it’s humble beginnings over a decade ago.
This year over 800 cars from NY, PA, and Ohio came together to raise money for local charities, hang out, and check out all the iron scattered throughout Point Gratiot park. Here in Western NY, days like this enjoying the beautiful summer weather, cool cars, and spending time with your friends are the days you look back on when you get the winter blues. This show will always be on my “must attend” list and it should be on yours too.
I live right down the road in Erie which is very car friendly, but I never knew Dunkirk had a show too! You should visit state street in Erie for the next big show on August 25th. Cruise town erie they call it.
Dunkirk’s show is always on the Sunday following the 4th of July. I just might head down to Erie on the 25th and check it out!
