(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – More Friday photos from the 48th Annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals at the Kentucky Exposition Center. When I take photos I do not immediately look to see if the photo turned out. Well, sometimes I do, but generally not. When I click the shutter I should have a good idea if it will turn out or not. On Friday the sun was playing peek-a-boo much later in the day which led to either too much glare or not enough light. I figured many of these would be junk. Later when I could scroll through and actually see the screen some turned out more interesting that expected. Again, my own advice has always been to keep clicking. Something will turn out and you just might get one photo that blows your socks off. That didn’t happen here, but I squeezed a few that I am happy with.
A brief mention of some from this collection:
Green and white ’72 Malibu. My first car was similar to this one. I will always like these.
Red ’70 Mustang coupe. Normally ‘everyone’ wants a sports roof. I think this can be just as good.
Cute little 4-door Lark with a GM 4.3 V6 and plenty of attitude. What a great cruiser.
The black IH with the nose-bleed stance and a utility bed is something not seen much at these events. Nice.
Crusty Nash Metro with the spun discs was all over the place every day we attended.
Perfectly poised white Pro Street Chevette. There aren’t enough of these around any more.
Enjoy. Saturday photos and swap meet coverage yet to come. Stay tuned.

That “crusty” Nash Metro was all over the place like the septic rash it is…
Geordie….. I can’t fault the car. Spun moons, solid, and being enjoyed. It isn’t sporting 20s in wheelwells that don’t support it visually. If it has a LS….I can’t tell because I never saw the hood open. Might not be my favorite, but it doesn’t fit into the category of ‘I won’t take a photo of it’.
Lighten up. Lots to enjoy.
EXCELLENT coverage Doug, f*ck homely Grodie the h8r. Cars are meant to be driven regardless of finish. I’d much rather see a rusty work in progress being enjoyed than stored waiting for some day to arrive.
