(Photos by the author) – In the midst of a punishing New England winter, we take our automotive fun any way we can get it. One of the yearly rituals around the Boston area is the New England International Auto Show. Unlike the New York, LA, or Detroit shows, this is a more regional affair where manufacturers have a presence but they typically do not have any big model reveals, etc. It is a way for people who are in the market for a new car to check out what’s coming to the dealers, sit in stuff, and get a feel for what they like and don’t like before they commit to shopping. For us, it is a way to get up close and personal with the new models and give them a once over. For our kids, it is heaven on Earth. A building filled with hundreds of cars that can be touched and sat in. Seriously, they about lose their minds.
There’s some nice stuff to check out in here. We were really impressed with the newest generation of Jeep, particularly the Rubicon. The company has managed to work in some great features to make the thing even more capable and usable along with making it more modern along the way. It truly is one of the most unique vehicles being built in Detroit right now and they are sticking with it and not watering the machine down. That’s good. You’ll see some exotics like the new Aston Martin which was a jaw dropper along with other big money rides and some that are pedestrian as well. It’s all about the cars, baby.
