(By Tom Lohnes) – The Genesis GV80 is the quintessential modern luxury SUV. Bold styling, ample power, and a beautiful, high-quality Interior make it a very solid buy. But, there’s a problem. If you get the top-of-the-line Prestige trim, you can only get a 5-seat configuration with some very nice but slightly impractical powered rear seats. Well, Genesis has a solution, and it’s much nicer than the previous top trim.
Called the Prestige Signature, this high-dollar SUV sports a 6-seat configuration that looks both classy and practical at the same time. The second row is the main focus here, with the whole luxury car treatment. Sporting two beautiful quilted bucket seats, this luxe Korean has a center console with various controls on it just like the outgoing G90 sedan. These rear seats are heated, cooled, and have a massage function for when your kids are tired after soccer practice. If you need to carpool, you have another row of seats behind the executive row. This 3rd row is sort of an afterthought, but it is a great thing to have in a pinch.
So, this ultra-luxury SUV isn’t going to come cheap. The current GV80 can top $70k with options. Expect this upgraded version to crest 80.
It’s always cool to see something through fresh eyes. Keep it up Tom!
