There are hundreds of endurance races that go on each year, and several of those are 24 hours long, but there is only one 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is the race that created rivalries, the race that defined some factory racing efforts, and the race that made careers, broke careers, and created legends. It is like Indy for endurance racers. Everyone wants to win at Le Mans and the factory teams all show up in force for this race. Sure, the FIA World Endurance Championships are huge anyway, but the weekend at Le Mans is at another level.
