What began as a fringe movement of guys who liked to make their classic cars turn corners has exploded into a major part of the car hobby, high performance aftermarket, and hot rodding world in general over the last decade. Pro Touring is a bonafide craze and that can be evidenced by the sheer number of events catering to these cars, the torrent of high performance suspension components now available for the, and the exploding popularity of autocrossing and open track road course days.
As you will see in this gallery, the genre is not just limited to Chevelles and Camaros, although they are two of the most popular cars in any form of hot rodding. There are Fords of all shapes and sizes, a bunch of Mopars, Buicks, 1980s GM G-Bodies, and on and on. Hell, we’ve seen late a 1940s Cadillac made to corner and as loopy as that sounds, it is awesome.
This year, Chad will be on the road for more than 30 weeks announcing Pro Touring events from the various “runs” that happen across the country to the Goodguys Autocross series. That’s saying something!
