(By Scott Parker) – Lots of wreckage on the blog today and here’s a little more. This video is of a crash that happened at an autocross event. The car in the video is a newish Corvette that the driver spends most of the time methodically working through the course. Our impression is that the driver may be new to competitive driving and is just trying to get himself comfortable in the car as he heads through the cones. Nothing wrong with that. Things go to crap late in the video when the motor heads for the moon, the ‘Vette heads off the course, and lots of expensive parts get destroyed in one pretty hard shot.

You more experienced autocrossers may be better to diagnose this situation that we can, but we’re thinking the dude saw the finish and landed on the throttle, planning to scoot through in a straight line. It is wild how the car comes right out from underneath him and the slick concrete surface doesn’t help the wayward Corvette slow much on the way to impending doom.
