(Photos by David Whealon) – The SVRA (Sportscar Vintage Racing Association) is among the largest, if not the largest vintage racing series that tours the country with people from all corners of the USA participating. Before you think that this is just some parade lap deal, it is not. We’re talking a load of classes featuring everything from old school sports cars to very recently retired Indy cars and all the stuff in between. Outside of drag racing, there is not another motorsport on Earth that brings the mechanical variety each and every event like vintage road racing.
David Whealon was at Virginia International Raceway last weekend and he blasted photos like a madman. Not only is the place one of the most beautiful and beloved road racing facilities in the country, it is also beautiful, challenging, and a fantastic place for the variety and awesomeness of these cars to be showcased.
We have a load of photos to share with you so let this first collection get you ready for what’s to come for the rest of the week!
