That’s what the ad says! Don’t shoot the messenger. According to this ad this is the fastest 2006 Mustang in the World, and there is proof. It was clocked at 214 mph during the 2012 Silver State Classic open road race. It ran 186.338 in the standing mile at Texas, and makes over 870 to the tires. Before you get all wound up about neither of those being the fastest that a S197 Mustang has been, you have to read the fine print. This is the Fastest Stock Body and Chassis 2006 Mustang in the World. And maybe a 2007 has been faster. No idea. But according to the seller this one is the fastest 2006 Mustang ever. We looked at the ad and apparently the stipulation for “Stock Chassis” is the fact that it uses stock suspension arms and rods. Shocks and springs are different but there is no mention that arms have been changed.
So there you have it. So if you take the “record” out of this thing, and just call it a well built 870 plus horsepower S197 Mustang, is this sucker worth it? It’s a bad ass machine that is for sure. We’d love to take it for a ride and see if we could do better in the standing mile with it here at Mojave.
