Ok, now that Thanksgiving is way in the rear view mirror (hey that was 24 hours ago!) it is time to set our sights on the stuff that you people will want for Christmas. We’re starting with the AMC fans in the crowd because we love those cars and the people who continue to stick with the extinct brand. We dug up a real gem of an AMC race motor that we think any fan of the Kenosha based manufacturer would want. 440ci, 630+ horsepower, dry sump oiling, Moldex crank, and a load of Herman Lewis built parts? Hello! This thing is like a dream build from AMC heaven, right? The seller built it intending to stick it in his road racing car but we’re guessing that with the right gearing this thing could be perfect for a nasty street car or even a drag race mobile. Yeah, the dry sump complicates things a little but this is meaner than hell.
The engine is based off of a 401 and while it has never been raced, it has been broken in and pulled on the dyno so that’s where the horsepower numbers are coming from. These are not estimates they are wha was gleaned off the pump. The seller said that went he went into building this thing his attitude was maximum results with no compromises and when you look at this parts list I think you’ll agree that he stuck to his word. Here’s a quick list. Hit the ad link at the bottom the page for the full ad, more photos and more information –

This would be the ultimate for my brothers J20, could be slightly overkill but would be fun!
I haven’t been naughty, but I don’t think I’ve been that nice. Man that would really wake the Matador up.
