Owosso Speedway, locally known as “The Big O” was established in 1940 as one of the first race tracks in Michigan. The track is located on highway M-21 in Ovid, Michigan, just outside of Lansing, the state’s capital.

The track’s colorful history includes serving as POW Camp for captured German soldiers during World War II. The track has also been raced by many top racers including Benny Parsons, Brad Keselowski and Erik Jones.

The 40 acre facility features a 3/8 mile paved banked short track oval.

    Why are they selling it? How close is this track to being legislated out of business by noise restrictions from the encroaching urban sprawl?

      They can race two times per week and I now believe camping is aloud. Place needs seating repairs, bathroom and new concessions. Asphalt is wearing thin. Probably needs 300k at a minimum investment

    As for why, I can’t say, but local ordnance/sprawl won’t be a problem. There’s nothing over there to interfere.
