Austin Healeys are cool little cute cars. Cute being the operative word. Sure they have tons of racing pedigree and all that. We aren’t discounting any of that. But they certainly aren’t horsepower monsters. And they aren’t a big draw for your average muscle car or hot rod guy because of it. So you can imagine our surprise when David Whitney sent us a link to this bad boy! Some hot rodder certainly came up with a way to make one hot rodder approved. Put a Hemi in it!

Now… why didn’t Chrysler do that to the Tiger when they bought out Sunbeam?
(Yeah, I know, even stuffing a 340 in there would have been a stretch. But it would have been awesome.)
Chrysler didn’t do that with the Sunbeam because the engines simply wouldn’t fit. The Ford’s have always been narrower, and they just barely fit.
But to this car? Yuck! The attempt to make it look like a Cobra just ruins the looks of an otherwise beautiful car.
Fat fendered look is way over done !!!!!!!
Real V8 Healeys are a work of art. This Cobrafied. . . thing is a piece of crap. Yuck!
I still would like to have my BN1 with the little Chevy that I had in ’64-’65. If I just hasn’t bounced it off the guard rails coming off the Jersey Turnpike.
