I know a BMW E30 is not the norm around here, but you have to live under a rock if you haven’t noticed the insane number of “Ultimate Driving Machines” that have graced race tracks, winding roads, and freeway off ramps over the past 30 plus years. And the 3 series BMW is arguably one of the most loved driver’s cars in the world, let alone the states. So when we saw this cool little bit of Bavarian goodness we knew we just had to post it. After all, we’d love to drive it so surely one of you out there would too.
This particular 3 series is a 1987 E30 BMW 325is, and since the E30 is arguably one of the coolest looking later model BMWs, we think it would be a riot to have. Other than the automatic transmission, which is a fairly straight forward swap, this thing is pretty bitchin. And the 3 liter inline 6 can be a fun little engine when tuned up with the right parts.
But wait! This is BangShift.com for god sake! This sucker is just begging for an LS swap and a 6 speed! Yeah baby, now we’re talking. Ultimate driving machine meets ultimate late model V8? Oh yeah, sign us up. What do you think?

I like these cars, but the cost has always kept me at bay. Yes, I’m cheap. But honestly, $7800 for a car with 213k+ miles? Whatever the market will bear I guess. Have to say those BBS wheels are a natural for these cars. So what is your guess of total cost in after an LS six speed swap? $15-20k? I’m out.
