So the C5 Corvette is better than the C4. And the C6 and C7 are better yet. Getting a C5 for less than $10,000 means salvage title or a car with some serious issues, and in most cases they all have parts you don’t care about if you are building a pro touring track day car anyway! Even if you are going to drive it on the street on weekends, buying a dirt cheap C4 like this one could be the ticket to low buck fun! An LS swaps into one almost by itself, as does the stick trans of your choice. We’d go new Delrin stuff from Ridetech along with some of their shocks, but we’d tweak the stock leafs to get started anyway. A good seat, a driveway wrap or spray job, and we think you could get this thing in prime racing shape for less than $10,000. Way less. Somebody should do it so we can follow along. Think you can do it for $5000? Less? We think so!
