It’s Trans Am Tuesday today, and so I picked this clean 1979 WS6 Trans Am from eBay as a great buy that we think gets you into the Pro Touring world with just a click or two. This car is really clean, rather simple, and yet is a great starting point to go out and have fun and then slowly upgrade from there. The really expensive parts are already taken care of as the car has clean paint, nice interior, a fresh 455 and T10, plus Baer Brakes all the way around. Plus it’s got some Hotchkis suspension under it already so it’s ready to go have some fun with right now.
Like I said, it may need a tweak or two but this thing is fun ready to happen. And it has NO T-Tops! That’s a huge win!

1979 Pontiac Trans Am Pro Touring
This rust free WS6 T/A from Arizona via Elite Motorsports in Austin, Texas is built into a Pro Touring ground pounding street machine using some of the best components available on the market. I purchased the car in 2003 from Elite Motorsports and have logged fewer than 1500 miles in 12+ years.
It started as a pristine rust free WS6, factory 4 speed, A/C, PS, Power 4 wheel disk brake, black hobnail cloth interior, non T Top T/A and underwent a no expense spared transformation beginning with switching the standard Pontiac 400 with a Pontiac 455 bored .30 over into 462 cubic inches of pure Pontiac torque (467 peak dyno at completion) and horsepower. The engine was blueprinted, built, and balanced by Arizona Performance Center at cost in excess of $10k (in 2002 $) and has been driven very little since.

The vehicle, originally white had all of the body parts disassembled and repainted 79′ Trans Am red and the exact factory graphics were professionally added, the cars shows incredibly well and has very few blemishes.
To complete the Pro Touring build I have continued to add the best components on the market to make the vehicle handle and stop as well as it goes.
