(Words by Charles Wickam) If you’ve done any internet shopping looking for something inexpensive, and searched sites like Temu, Aliexpress, and Etsy, you probably question the quality of the items being sold. I’ll admit it, I’ve bought items from the sites, some are good, some are, well, not so good. Recently, Travis over at Classics are Better decided to give Etsy a try, and ordered up a seat cover for the bench seat in his 1966 Chevy C10, plus material to cover the inserts that go in the doors, and a pair of sun visors.
The items came packaged in one box and look easy enough to install that just about anybody could easily do this in the afternoon in the garage or shop. This looks like a great alternative for the DIY guy who takes his truck to the weekly cruise and occasional car show, and for me personally, I think I may be going this route with my own truck project.
So if I’m willing to tackle something like this, I know you could do it as well.
Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think.
Video Description:
Will a low cost ETSY interior make my C10 look custom and cool or be a total bust? Today we’ll find out if I am giving my ’66 C10 an affordable clean faux leather upgrade from it’s moldy cream vinyl and a saddle blanket or I end up just wasting money and time on cheap internet junk. I had never considered ETSY as an automotive interior store, but the internet is a big place, and it has some killer options that are well priced for a budget conscious builder. In this video I replace the headliner, bench seat covers, sun visors, and wrap the door cards. I hope old Bandit comes out looking good!
The link below is the company B62Upholstery I ordered my interior from, I have no relationship with them other than being a customer. They have a lot of options to customize your color and material choices which is cool, and Etsy also has other similar stores to chose from.
