Ralph Nader can stick it, this vintage Corvair autocross video shows they rule! Clearly a Corvair can handle, since we’ve seen several good ones over the past several years, but in the early 1980’s Andy Clark was hauling ass on SCCA Autocross courses behind the wheel in both Northern California and Washington. These two videos are awesome and show just how fast this little car is. We especially love the way he uses the engines weight in a couple spots to trail brake this thing in and get it to slide sideways and setup for a corner. Clearly Andy knew what he was doing and we’re glad someone had the VHS recorder out getting some good footage.
This is our first vintage ACED: AutoCross Every Day video but we want more!
I love me those Corvairs! I ran a similarly prepared late model Corvair in C-Prepared during the 80’s in the northeast. Most of the time competing for FTD and pissing off the V8 guys. ;^) I still own a pretty nice one today.
Check my car out!

I dunno, I could try doing that in the UltraVan. I mean, it’s got a 140 Corvair engine and Isky cam. Sure it’s 22 ft long but what could possibly go wrong?
