Somewhere John Greenwood is smiling. The rumored to be happening Callaway AeroWagon package has been officially announced by the well known tuning and modification house. While far superior in aesthetics and likely in execution we cannot help but look at the C7 “shooting brake” and think of the Greenwood cars of the 1970s. Yes, this one will be made of carbon fiber and it does not make the car look like a circus prop, but it does the same thing that Greenwood’s did, other than add the seats. The unit will use the existing factory hinges and seal and will still cost approximately eleventeen thousandy dollars.
Now onto the good stuff. The company has an FAQ page that answers what were the most popular questions they got after teasing the world with this idea. Apparently the concept AreoWagon Package triggered lots of know nothing idiots to write in with questions. Don’t believe us? Here’s a couple of the best ones:
Will there be a four-door version of the AeroWagen?
What are the performance specs for the Callaway Corvette AeroWagen?
Will the AeroWagen be equipped with all wheel drive?
Shockingly none of the published answers for those questions is, “Are you effing with us?”
So whether you love it or hate it, people will be sending their C7 Corvettes to the Callaway facilities in either Connecticut or California for this aesthetic upgrade. Us? Hey we kind of dig it. The car looks like a slightly moe awkward version of the Ferrari FF but will be had for way less money. Plus in 20 years we can all go, “Remember when they did that?” By then the C11 will be out and some new shop will be proposing the same damned idea.
What? No wicker basket with cut glass? No matching leather bags? No custom shotgun w\ tooled leather case? I think not my good man! 🙂
That looks way better than a stock Corvette.
I like it … dont like the price
Does it come with enough gold chains and faux chest hair too?
In the 70s, two companies built station wagon kits for Corvettes – they built thousands and there’s maybe 2 left (both of which routinely get hated on)…. people keep alleging that as time progresses we get smarter. I say this proves the opposite. What’s next? a el camino kit for it? for those who just can’t afford a Corvette AND a pickup truck?
Think 11k is a lot? Wait till you see how much it lowers the resale value!
The idiots are the ones that think a 11k add on is cool..
not the ones poking fun at it with silly questions..
