Cruise Coverage: Here’s A Look A The Fun From Filmore’s! Cammers, Lencos, and More!

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Typically we bring you some Filmore’s cruise-in action by way of our return trip from visiting the Ohio Mile.  Since that venue is no longer open our opportunities to stop by have been few.  However, we have made the trip to Florence, KY to partake of the cars and some excellent food and there might have been a few milk shakes consumed.  Maybe.  Anyway, we are rarely disappointed with the automotive offerings and though there are the regular folks that stop in – there are also a lot of new-to-us stuff.  As always Ray Dowers  (DJ Ray) was keeping us entertained and chatting with folks.

As always we won’t detail every car, but will point out a few that caught our interest.

The Grumpy’s Toy tribute was thumping hard and exited in such a manner as to draw the ire of the local authorities.  Mind you….they heard it….didn’t see it.  Everything about this car drips with cool.

Yellow Vette must have a really bad power steering pump.  It was whining rather loudly.

Three pale yellow tri-5s…   Each in a distinctive style.

’65 Malibu sporting a big-block and rear steelies.  This is a look I support.

The red Road Runner was very sharp and sounded as it should.

I am not the biggest fan of late Camaros, but the one pictured here has a theme and pulls it off well.  L88-style hood, simple stripes, not crazy wheels, and a procharger.

The champagne-colored Unibody Ford has great stance, cool wheels, and would be welcome in most anyone’s stable.

Lastly we have this tidy little turbo Fox-body.  Father-son brought it in and strolled around to check out the other cars then left.  The car is clean and sounds suspiciously quiet.  You just never know with these cars what is lurking under the hood these days.

Enjoy.
