2017 NSRA Street Rod Nationals Coverage: More Swap Meet Cars and Parts For Sale

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – I often wear a BangShift T-shirt to events because it has and does strike up conversation with folks.  I have ran into people from the forums and diehard followers of the blog.  Such is the case with this fella pointing at me in the second photo.  We had a good chat earlier in the day and he seemed pleased we were there snapping photos.

No that is not OJ’s bronco, but it was fairly clean and needed only a little TLC to be a pretty good driver.  There might be a car longer than this Imperial, but when it pulled out of its spot as we stood there it seemed to take forever to pass by.  Wow.  The green Falcon would be fun and other than the cowl hood it looked pretty decent (only my opinion….I am tired of cowl hoods on everything).  I know Lohnes would be weak in the knees seeing this F-4 stakebed.  The faux-woodie Pinto wagon sold on Friday and we hope the look is not altered by the new owners.  We need more of this.  Didn’t I mention there were numerous ’67-72 Chevy pickups…?  Yup.  Let me draw your attention to the crusty ’70 Mustang Mach 1.  It looked as if it just came out of a barn and we believed it likely didn’t run.  To our surprise not only did it run…..it was driven out the gate into traffic.  The car looked straight and solid.  The tunnel-rammed mini-boat is a non-functional (it does run) promotional item, but is begging for someone to make it run across the water.  Not me….but someone with virtually no desire for self-preservation.

300-six-powered 4WD F-150 SWB….yes please.  Super clean two-wheel-drive Ramcharger looked tempting as a tow rig.  We haven’t seen one of these in years.  This Dodge Power Wagon was 6BT-swapped and looked ready to work.  Lastly….virtually every configuration of a Winters intake manifold was available in quantity here.  Median price was around $150.  I’m pretty sure we spotted nearly two dozen of them.

Enjoy.
