If you love Fords, the video you are about to watch may seem like some sort of a fever dream come to life. Shot at Goodwood you are going to see a Galaxie battling with multiple Falcons and Mustangs on the road course. It is the automotive Battle of Britain and it’s freaking fantastic to watch. The neatest thing about this for us is that you have pro road racing drivers at the helm of these cars. Guys who race the BTCC, WRC, and even who have competed at Le Mans. Their skill and experience shine through with the wild side by side action, the controlled slides of the cars, and some truly balls out passing.
When you see the right hand drive Mustang try to get under the Falcon and get within two nanometers of him without touching, you’ll appreciate the skills. You’ll also appreciate how hard a little 289 can run in a light car on little tires.
We have to be honest though, nothing can supplant the bad ass nature of a road racing 427 Galaxie on white steel wheels with a driver wringing it out to within an inch of its life. It may not be as nimble as its smaller Ford brothers but damn it sure does have a commanding presence!
