(Photos by David Whealon) – Yesterday we showed you some cool Lamborghini Super Trofeo photos that David Whealon captured at Virginia International Raceway. Today we’re back with more images from that same weekend but one of the other series that was competing on the historic track. These photos showcase the cars of the Continental Tire Sports Car Series which is what we believe to be the highest echelon of modern sports car racing in the country right now. Factory backed and privateer teams scrap at events from sea to sea in some of the most interesting cars on the road.
That’s one thing we really like about production style sports car racing. It still has deep connections to the actual vehicles that people are driving to the track and there’s gotta be big value in that. With Camaros and Mustangs on track with BMWs, Porsches, and other cars it makes for a good show and everyone’s got something to root for. That’s what a lot of other forms of racing are missing but these guys have it and they have it in spades! Check out the action here –
