Cool Video: Pete Steele and Louie Beato From Carnivore Wrench On A Beater Mustang II

I have to admit that that I am not now, nor have I ever been a metalhead. I have nothing against that style of music, it just isn’t my jam…literally. That being said, we know a ton of you out there grew up on metal and to this day still love it. There was a Brooklyn, New York based band called Carnivore that rose to some prominence in the metal scene during the 1980s. Combining elements of speed and thrash metal they developed their own unique sound and while they didn’t exactly light the world on fire, the band got leader Peter Steele rolling the business and set him up to front his most successful project which was a group called Type O Negative.

Steele had multiple successes with Type O Negative knocking out records that went gold and platinum before he died about six years ago. This video features he and Carnivore band member Louie Beto lying on the side of the street working on a pretty haggard Mustang II that is up on ramps. The car has slot mags and some oxidized red paint. After that it is anyone’s guess.

Nothing major or hugely exciting happens in the video but it is really cool to see a guy being a guy before he made it. He likely didn’t have much money in his pocket and that old claptrap car was his sole means of transportation to gigs and stuff. Just a couple guys fixing their junk on the side of a very quiet city street.

When I was in the Navy my roommate ashore was always either jamming to Type O Negative or leaving the CDs in the player. I hated that noise. I ended up making a point of leaving Disney CDs in the player any chance I got. It was my CD player so what the heck.
