The Nissan GT-R has been around almost a decade. Other than upgrades, it’s the exact same car that Nissan debuted to the world in 2007…and brought to the United States a year later, once they finished building servicing centers in the country. This is the follow-on to the sincerely violent and jaw-dropping Skyline GT-R range that knocked the world on it’s ass in 1989 with the debut of the R32 version. The R35, the one we got legally here, isn’t a bad ride at all…far from it, it’s a track monster that has an all-wheel-drive system that borderlines on ESP for the driver and the power to back it up. It also has more computers than a NASA control center, quite literally has a video-game display for it’s performance pages (it was designed by Polyphony Digital, the geniuses that brought Gran Turismo to life) and has an exhaust note that sounds like the world’s angriest Dyson vacuum.
On the other hand, the Corvette Z06 has been out since January and is the high point of American: low, loud, and ballistic. A blown Chevrolet V8 on one end, two tormented tires on the other, brakes that could stop a freight train all around, and with the Z07 Performance Package…a performance package for your performance package, dawg…you get tires that are two grooves from being racing slicks and a freaking Gurney flap as a factory addition. It also trumps the Nismo by fifty horsepower and a significant amount of torque more, weighs a touch less, and the noise of that engine is the closest automotive/music crossover since Mick Mars started playing the intro to “Kickstart My Heart”.

I like Corvette Z06 as compared to Nissan. Good comparison in my opinion. Z06 awesome by every stretch of the imagination, I think the engineers need to go back to the drawing board and refine some aspects of it.
