(Photos and words by Doug Gregory) – More haulers in here including some really big trucks. The American Truck Historical Society had a few members’ trucks in attendance. They had their annual convention at the Kentucky Horse Park this year.
The first one I’ll mention can be a bit hard to follow. I dig the red White C-cab with leaf packs I’m sure would barely budge under the weight of the Titanic. Good thing it’s slow because those solid rubber tires felt like they were made of stone and could cause chiropractor nightmares.
The blue CJ5 with the black top was super interesting. Original owner. Swapped in a 304. It’s had just about everything upgraded over the years and is driven very regularly.
The last two square-body stepsides finished 1st and 3rd in the burnout contest. We’ll cover more of that in a later article.
I really liked the white ’60 Brookwood wagon. Definitely a cruiser.
Enjoy these pics and visit again to see some of the muscle car-ish stuff in attendance.
