Cynthiana Rod Run Photo Coverage: An All-American, Hometown, Hot Rodding Mecca!

Cynthiana Rod Run Photo Coverage: An All-American, Hometown, Hot Rodding Mecca!

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – The little town in Harrison County Kentucky continues to show they can grow their yearly gearhead event beyond their expectations.  1,633 was the official number inside the boundries, but many more were outside with no place to park.  The weather was not hot an sticky like it had been the last couple of years.  The burnout contest tried out a new location.  LOTs of people.  A new building mural featuring a legend in Kentucky basketball.  Much to see and do.  We ended up taking my son’s Bel-Air because my nova has a busted transmission.   We always enjoy coming out to this and since it is very local to us we want to support it.

In this first offering we will highlight a few cars:

Black ’47-48 Chevy coupe with a great-looking Buick Nailhead and, if I remember right, three pedals.

Tilt front end Studebaker with what appears to be an Eaton blower adapted.  The whine was divine.

Steven Blades had his latest tri-5 Jr Stocker 4dr out on Main St drawing a crowd with a unique olive drab hue.

Bright, bright red square-body Thunderbird was taking us back at least 3 decades.

Enjoy these and come back for more…

  1. skeptical

Hmmmm Nailhead. I may have to find one of those to put on the engine stand to stare at. Then eventually find a car/truck to put it in.
