Not content to let the Internet and everyone else take in the Hellcat Charger (especially just after the Hellcat Challenger news was finally slowing down), Dodge sent out another clip sure to raise eyebrows: they will be racing in the Trans-Am series’ TA2 class with two cars, one being driven by 21-year-old Cameron Lawerence, the other by series champion Tommy Kendall. Dodge is hoping to clench the TA2 championship for the first time ever. It’s currently unknown what kind of power the SRT T/A is going to put out, but one thing is for sure: squint a little and some of Sam Posey’s Challenger starts to show up nicely.
The SRT Challengers will make their debut at Mid-Ohio on August 15 and 16.
Looks like a 392 based G3 Hemi with drive by cable. Wonder which EFI system they are running?
Hmmmn …..Looks more like a now over a decade old Mercedes Benz E-Class … with a Mercedes V8 under the hood pretending to be a Dodge Challenger with a Hemi in it to me

What is this TA series? First I have heard of it. Used to be great in the 60’s-80’s , does GM And Ford know about this series?

Googled the trans am site. Series has been going on all year and this is the first I’ve heard of it.
TA2 restricts horsepower to less than 500. The cars cost about $100,000 which is cheap as racing cars go. No titanium or carbon fiber components are allowed, aside from the driver’s seat.
