This video is completely bat guano crazy. We’re talking straight off the deep end, wild eyed, no sleep in eight days, crazy. You are about to see a European Banger Racing 2017 highlight video that contains wrecks which will make your toes curl up. Bret Kepner sent us the tip on this one and it is beyond even his colorful description.
So Banger Racing is basically what we would consider enduro stock car racing here with the added twist of apocalyptic destruction as part of the race. Run on dirt and asphalt oval tracks, the cars range from modern small economy beaters and Volvo wagons, to Cadillacs, Edsels, and other barge like creations that we never thought we would see American car loving Europeans destroying. The cars and the racing is one thing but the crashes and wrecks are beyond description.
It seems as though part of the game is to locate disabled vehicles and literally pile drive them into tin cans. How people don’t die with frequency in these events is beyond us. You’ll see a guy sitting helpless in a little car and then a 4,000lbs Cadillac barrels into ’em at full tilt. It looks like there are track spotters that get a hand signal from the drivers in the big wrecks and if they give a thumbs up, action continues unabated. There are a couple in here where the driver of the mashed car had to be hurting. If not immediately, certainly the next day.
This is about as intense as it gets. We’e not talking fender benders here. Some of these are mind-boggling.
