Formula Vice: This Profile Of A 1981 March F1 Car Is Awesome For Many Reasons – Watch!

A race car sponsored by a nude joint in Paris, Guinness beer, and a rolling papers company. Yes, that is the story of this 1981 March Formula One car that was once driven by an Irishmen named Daly and which is now owned by an Irishmen name Campion. We cannot claim to be huge experts in Formula One history but for all the stuff we have shown and seen over the years here, the 1970s and early 1980s seem to have been an epic free for all out there. The cars with ground effects, big horsepower, and little crash protection put on one hell of a show and kept fans all over the world, glued to the results in any which way they could get them.

James Campion owns this car now, amazingly it was the car that got him hooked and going fast and wrenching on stuff when he saw it race as a kid…now he owns it. Campion strikes us as a cool and fun guy. He admits to not being a race car drive but loving the experience of driving the car. He puts a 17-year old racing hopeful in the seat of a car that is basically twice as old as the kid is and tells him not to take the shortcut.

The scream of the March’s 3.0L Bosworth V8 is one thing but the reality is that the story behind it is even cooler. This is one of our favorite Petrolicious videos ever and we think you’ll agree!

Cool video, I’m more a late 60s-70s American racing fan for vintage stuff (CanAM, TransAm) but this is a really good car with a really good story, thanks BS.
