Get Your Dirt On: Hartwell Speedway In Georgia Is For Sale – A 50 Year Racing Tradition!

We’ve been telling you about a bunch of race tracks that have come up for sale in recent months and that is because (a) all of them have been cool places and (b) you seriously seem to enjoy checking them out because people go gaga over them on our social media channels. The last track we told you about was an asphalt joint up in the rust belt. This time we’re on clay and we’re in Georgia. Opened in 1969 Hartwell Speedway is a 3/8ths mile dirt/clay oval in the grandest of the southern dirt racing tradition.

These guys have a multitude of classes that compete on a week to week basis and this is the kind old school dirt track that we think many of you picture when thinking back on the roots of stock car racing.

Sure it lacks the flash and dash of the modern super tracks but you cannot tell us that sipping on a beer and watching a load of late models careen around this place wouldn’t result in an ear to ear grin, right? Right.
