It has been a while since we’ve heard from our pal Emily Williams who is the woman behind “In the shop with Emily” a web series that follows her adventures of wrenching on and modifying cars. The last couple times we have shown you stuff, she’s been working on other people’s cars but this time it is her own machine, a late model GTO that goes by the name Roxy that gets the wrenches put to it. This episode shows the installation of a Mantic dual disc clutch. If you are not familiar with Mantic, they are an Australian company and they manufacture really nice high performance clutches for a variety of applications. As you will see in this video, their stuff is top shelf from the packaging right to the pieces that get bolted to the car.
In the video we see Emily pull the transmission, install the clutch and bolt it all back together again. Of course at the end we get to see her putting the thing through its paces (after the 500 mile break in period). We dig this one because it is really organic. Not insanely overproduced and slick as hell, this one has the feel of regular people working in the shop. We like that.
If you have never tackled a clutch job before, watch this video and all of your fears ill be allayed. You get to see it done like regular people do it and not in a massive TV studio where everything is totally perfect. Anyway it is good to see Emily back in the shop and burning tires again and it is interesting to get a load of a Mantic clutch because other than images on the computer screen and in magazines we had not seen one put into a car before.
Pretty sweet Emily, I mean the clutch.
Just love her……..GTO! This is one car I miss the most!
