We got sent this link by BangShifter Nick Dixon and he may or may not have referred to the seller as a psychopath. Funny thing is, we’re kind of agreeing with him here because the more you think about this situation the more it becomes an automotive version of Criminal Minds or some other show where there’s a nefarious, scary, or bizarre situation brought on by someone that has serious mental illness. Sure, the person who bought this Yugo new for like $4,000 drove it for a little while and then put it into some sort of hermetically sealed storage situation to preserve its hotness for a couple of decades may be a well mannered, normal member of society. He may also be like that guy who was a fence inspector a few years ago and ended up being a prolific serial killer. There’s a large slice of, “Who does this?!” involved with this car.
We have to credit the seller because they have what has to be the nicest Yugo in the USA. This car is virtually perfect in every way or at least as “perfect” as it was delivered by the Yugo factory. The interior looks as though no one has ever been in it. The paint looks like it was laid on with a horsehair brush but there’s no rust or flaking, and the backup lights look like they should be on a King of the Hammers entry but they are present and accounted for. But the money….
Would anyone ever pay $8,500 for this car? Even if there were Yugo collectors out there, is this really an $8,500 car? It was a $4.000 car when it was brand new so has the value of it really doubled as the rest of its Yugo brothers melted down, blew up, or were scrapped on the anger of their disappointed owners? Maybe the person willing to pay that money is even more out there than the seller? Maybe THEY are the one we should be paying close attention to and not the guy with the guts to list a stock Yugo for $8,500.

And this kids is why you should always say NOOOO TO DRUGS.
I plead the Fifth as to whether I actually made any remarks about being a psychopath. But the seller is in Utica, and there was an old insane asylum in Utica and the Marcy psychiatric center (Where Son Of Sam was held for a while) is nearby. Just saying.
As for the paint that looks like it was laid on with a horsehair brush, I’m sure it probably was. Ahhh, Yugo quality.
My wife bought me a brand new Yugo in ’91, so I wouldn’t ride my ZX10 Ninja to work when it was -9 degrees and snowing outside. She paid $3,200.00 for it, brand new, with a two year bumper to bumper warranty that covered literally everything. A Yugo, for those that don’t know, is a rebadged ’68 Fiat, and they were great little cars, kinda like the original beetle, just a good, basic get around car. I often tell people, if you can’t have fun driving a Yugo, you aren’t a true car enthusiast. They run well, handle great (for what they are, come on!) and you can be out jsut driving the wheels off it and no one even realises it. They teach you how to use momentum to keep up the forward motion. Can you tell I loved it? Know why they aren’t areound anymore? It’s not because of poor sales, or poor quality. Its because the factory got bombed out of existance during the Bosnian wars! I’d buy this thing, but $8500? Nah, don’t need it THAT bad…
Isnt that a dent on the right front fender? Great, now the psycopath is going to come after me.
That right fender is all kinds of messed up. For this price were are the 10 other parts cars?
I’ll pass, waiting for a mint LeCar.
Didn’t these get a DNF in a quality survey?
115mph? thats a little optimistic. My festiva would do 80 downhill.
