Level Up: Drifting The Wee Out Of A Charity-Auction Mustang!

Ever since I dragged home a red 1994 Mustang that will ultimately be blown apart for many different reasons, I’ve had visions of what an SN-95 ‘Stang could be. They are new enough to be useful and old enough to be interesting, and as long as it’s not a Cobra R model, 1990s Mustangs are very affordable. The SN-95 platform is also known as a Fox-4 for a reason…there are substantial upgrades, but most of the machine is more or less an evolution of the Fox architecture, so if you were to find a 1994-1995 GT, you could even stick with the old-school small block Ford for power. Or, you could embrace the 4.6L and run with it, too.

YouTuber “ChrisFix” scored this 4.6L-powered 1998 Mustang GT at a charity auction for low money. The car had probably been donated after the fuel pump called it quits, and over the course of some time, he’s used the car for a bunch of how-to videos, from simple repairs to the modifications that have made the car a drift machine…the entire reason he bought it in the first place. He’s used the car to learn how to drift and has gone from looping the Mustang straight into the grass on the first corner to hanging out the tail well enough to make the transition from the beginner class to testing out for the next level. Check out a backyard build gone right here as he flings this Mustang into corners without an enticing crowd nearby to snack on!
