The HSR Classic 12 Hours of Sebring is one of the coolest vintage races that happens in North America each year. We often share videos from events like this because they are awesome and the cars are totally iconic. This video is not about a bunch of snappy angles or crazy drone shots. Nope, this video is about sound and the varied screams, rumbles, and roars that the competition cars make at the race that starts in the evening and spans the night on the historic and awesome Sebring course.
Sebring seems to get weirdly lost in the conversations about America’s most historic racing facilities. The place is old, it is rough, and it is not the most grandiose environment to have automobile racing but it has been a staple of American racing for like 60 years or more. Some of the great triumphs of American road racing have happened there so it only makes sense that the HSR historic series would want to be on that course with their brand of competition.
There is something cosmically right about watching cars pound their way into the night while their engines are about the only thing that indicates where the car is on course. We love these old clattering, leaky, temperamental, annoying, and awesome race cars and we doubly love listening to them.
Oh, and as an added bonus the sounds of hot rodded piston planes!
