(Photos and Words by Darr Hawthorne) A decade and a half of Mopar freaks gathering in Vegas can put on a very entertaining event and when they get access to a national event track like the Strip at Las Vegas you can expect wheels up action and a some amazing examples of the breed.

The yearly Mopars & Muscle Cars at the Strip brings together the largest collection of Chrysler products in the West with some awesome restorations and one-offs that you’ve got to see for yourself. Every brand of muscle car is invited, but the attraction is Mopar and a healthy Vendor’s Midway with all kinds of performance and resto parts is there.

The Hotchkis Autocross is attracting a large collection of competitors.

In the pits there’s a huge massing of Mopars and Muscle cars, old and new, providing a comparison for enthusiastic muscle car owners and a chance to view alternate ways of finishing off your own ride. If you’ve been looking for that obscure stainless trim part, the large swap meet is where to look.

Not everyone has a concurs vision in mind for their hot rod, this killer Dodge Dart from Marco Sandîn Jr out of Sonora, Mexico is Mopar perfection winning a Best in Show for his Black Mamba 572 inch Hemi.

Mopars & Muscle Cars at the Strip isn’t just for vintage cars, competition has been opened up to other makes of muscle cars, but this year nearly a dozen Dodge Hellcats showed to make solid 11 and 12 second passes down the quarter mile.

With the flurry of events this year, the camera card for the 2017 Mopars & Muscle Cars at the Strip has been among the missing, but now found along with three crisp $20 dollar bills in a missing pair of Dickies shorts, it is ready to see.
