Not Today! Watch Racer Nick Swift Complete A Spectacular High Speed Pass At Goodwood – Opposite Lock!

The Goodwood Members Meeting took place a while back at the famed Silverstone Circuit in England. The course has been around for a long, looong time and has produced exciting results in everything from touring cars to Formula One but this video features a couple of the hard charging racers that were running during the Members Meeting. We’re riding along with Nick Swift in his Swiftune Mini as he battles for position late in the race. We’re picking up the action about 10-seconds before things get good so you understand the scene.

You’ll see Swift rocketing (literally) around the course and then you will see a pale blue BMW 2002 charge by him on the outside. Being that everyone gets more gutsy when they are on the last lap, it is no surprise that the BMW pilot waited for this moment to pounce. Out muscling the Mini on the straight is one thing but when the corners come, things take a turn for the awesome.

Swift, who would not be denied his position in the running order makes a banzai charge into the corner and manages to pass the 2002 while carrying a TON of excess speed. Showing just how deft his is behind the wheel, Switft ends up essentially drifting the corner and applying some good old opposite lock steering to keep the car out of the cabbage. Undoubtedly the driver of the BMW was pretty shocked by this turn of events and because of this move, Swift got his position back and charged to the end intact!

How wild was this pass? Note the fist pump as Swift passes the finish line. The guy was REALLY cranked up! He called on all of his skills to keep the car on the track and get by the pesky BMW at what really amounted to his last possible chance. Awesome! This is what a race car driver looks like, kids!
