Optima Film Festival Winner: Afternoon Donuts — This Is A Brilliant Short Film

Optima Film Festival Winner: Afternoon Donuts — This Is A Brilliant Short Film

We had the chance to attend some really cool events at SEMA this year and the Optima Film Festival was certainly one o them. Optima had invited filmmakers to submit their best work in one of two categories. The first was an “action camera” category that required contestants to use equipment like a GoPro, Replay Xd, etc to shoot the whole video. The other category was a little more long form and could use different equipment. Afternoon Donuts was the winner of the action camera category and it is proof that a simple concept executed well is always going to be a winner.

This video came form the boys at Tucci Hot Rods and it is a fun watch. The Optima Film Festival was fantastic because it brought together so many people and so much creativity. Held at the Mandalay Bay casino in its House of Blues, the vibe was perfect, Reverend Horton Heat was the musical act, and the whole place was going nuts for every film that played. This particular piece got a huge ovation and was then voted the winner of its category.

Press play and enjoy a great short film that’ll make you smile for sure.

Always cool to see the Tucci Hot Rods guys. I actually did a summer internship there as part of a high-school program. Their shop is about a 20 minute drive from my house.
