We here at BangShift cannot say enough about how much we love Group B rally cars. They are the pinnacle of what could be done when rules were pretty much all but thrown out of the window, and everyone, including the consumer, benefitted…mainly because of homologation rules that required street-going versions of these sociopathic little screamers.
This film is just over ten minutes of excellent footage, and unlike a lot of Group B footage on YouTube, it covers more than just Audi Quattros and Peugeots. You’ll see a Nissan 200SX in the snow, a Renault 5 Turbo playing in some tight streets, every sort of Lancia, and even the Opel Manta 400i flying down a road. The engine noises are delightful, from the snotty-sounding Celica Supra to the snapping and barking Quattros. Make sure your speakers are way up for this one.
Awesome video from around 1986? The Audi makes the best noise for my ears. Those guys, and gal Michele Mouton were on the ragged edge.
