There’s busy and then there’s what the guys and girls who work and race for RideTech have been this summer and that is B U S Y. They have been traversing the country, competing at USCA events at iconic tracks like Laguna Seca, Sebring, Daytona, and others. They have been hammering the cones at GoodGuys autocross events, preparing for the big year end showdown in Scottsdale, Arizona that will pit the best cars and racers against one another in a battle royale, and they have been hanging out and helping their customers and these events as well. In short, they’ve been busier than a one legged man at a butt kicking contest and we know they’d have it no other way.

We have a great update on their competition results from the last couple of weeks below. We’ll check in on their autocross efforts as well as their USCA fun, to boot. If there is one thing we’re hoping, it is that you see this and decide that in 2015 you are going to get out there and have some fun. It doesn’t have to be at the same places RideTech is at but even better if it is. The bottom line is that RideTech’s products are about making your car more fun, more exciting, and overall a better machine to actually get out and use. They put their money where their mouth is and prove that week after week in competitions like these. THAT’S dedication and confidence in your product and that sure goes a long way with us as it should with you.

The Goodguys’ Lone Star Nationals was held last weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway. RideTech customers came out in full force in Texas, with all but two of the Pro Class vehicles on RideTech CoilOvers or Air Suspension. Bret Voelkel piloted the 48Hour Camaro along the GoodGuys’ Hall Of Fame Road Tour from Lincoln, Nebraska to Fort Worth, Texas in the days before the event. When the event kicked off, Bret was able to lay down a good time that kept the Pro Class on it’s feet for the rest of the day. By days end Saturday, the old yellow 48hour was holding its own with a spot in the top three to close out the day. Saturday the Pro Class battle was even stronger as the top five continued to lower their times. By end of the day, Bret had positioned the Camaro for a solid second place finish on the weekend.  Josh Leisinger and the Summit Crusher II Corvette were also on the molten hot Texas asphalt ready to do battle with the little orange devil cones. In normal Leisinger fashion there was no holding back. From Josh’s Friday morning run on throughout the day, the car never left the top 3 spots. Saturday morning Josh was up in the top two and by the afternoon he pulled off a time that left the other competitors picking up their jaws. Josh held that top spot to finish out the weekend. Of course, if you ask anyone here it’s all in the shocks.  Great job Josh & Team Leisinger! RideTech dealer Roger Burman of Lakeside Rod & Rides brought his LS powered 63 Dodge Dart down from Iowa. 2014 is the first year of competition for Roger’s Dart and it has multiple top three finishes. The mean green Dart finished in the third place spot.

Terry Neuville and his RideTech CoilOver equipped 68 Camaro made the trip to Fort Worth from his hometown of Prairieville, Louisiana. Terry has been touring and upgrading his Camaro for a few years now. Terry finished the weekend in fourth place after holding solid in the top five. Terry even led the pack for a while on Friday. Sixteen year old Jared Leisinger was following his older brothers footsteps this weekend in the Summit Crushed C10. 2014 is Jared’s first year racing the Goodguys series, and he has been doing a fine job getting the old C10 around the track. Jared finished out the weekend in sixth place.  While part of the crew was enjoying the Texas heat, another portion of the RideTech Nation was fighting the rain in Pittsburgh. The Ultimate Street Car Association tackled Pittsburgh International Race Complex with over 60 competitors in it’s final qualifying event of the season. Not only was it the final event to earn points to qualify, it was also a double points event. RideTech’s head hot rod mechanic Greg Schneider had just spent the better part of two weeks swapping in a brand new Lingenfelter 416 CI LS3 engine and ZF 6 speed transmission. This added close to 200 additional horsepower to the Chevelle. Greg finished the weekend with an overall twentieth place finish out of forty one cars in his class. Still a respectable finish for a car with less than 10 miles on a new drivetrain. This finish also earned Greg a spot in the Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Invitational at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in November. RideTech team member and dealer Chris Smith of Smitty’s Custom Automotive had his C10 in Pittsburgh after also finishing swapping in a fresh motor. Chris had a great weekend finishing out with an eighth place overall finish. Don’t let the looks fool you, this is not your grandpa’s C10. Chris finished third in the design challenge, fifth in the autocross, seventh in the speed stop, and fifteenth in the hot lap challenge. Rob MacGregor and the “Hellboy” C10 made the trip to Pittsburgh after recently relocating to Tennessee from California. Rob owns No Limit Engineering, a chassis manufacturer and RideTech dealer. Rob finished in third place overall in the under 3,000 pound class. He finished second in the hot lap challenge, second in the autocross, and third in the speed stop challenge. James Shipka is not a new face to racing, James has been running this 67 Camaro for multiple years in events from Brock Yate’s One Lap Of America to SCCA events across the United States and Canada. James and his 67 finished 14th overall after a fifth place design challenge finish, tenth place hot lap finish, and finishing eleventh place in the autocross.
