Room To Grow: NCM Motorsports Park Has Purchased An Additional 208 Acres Of Land For Potential Expansion

If you haven’t seen the size of NCM Motorsports Park in it’s current configuration, trust us, it’s pretty impressive. The road course, Kartplex, and open asphalt areas that can be used for anything from autocross courses to EVOC training courses have brought in numerous racing series, including the SCCA, ChumpCar, and events such as Holley’s LS Fest East and the wintertime King of the Heap events that keep racers on the track throughout the winter. With new garages going up and plenty of events coming through, the National Corvette Museum announced that it had purchased 208.323 acres of land to the northeast of the current property. This brings the total acreage of land for NCM Motorsports Park up to 430 acres and will take up a large part of the east side of Interstate 65 from just before the National Corvette Museum, to past GM Bowling Green Assembly, the birthplace of Corvettes. It will also wrap around the Clark Circle neighborhood, the residents of which have expressed issued with the noise from the track in the past.

What will NCM Motorsports Park do with the property? There is no official announcement yet and the likelihood of major expansion is probably a few years away, but plans that have been in the works include a business park that would “complement the operations of the track” nearby. There could be options for more garages or more track space, the likes of which could include a potential off-road section. As it is, the go-karts and racing will continue on, as will the “Trek at the Track” event that allows walkers, runners and bicyclists to use the track surface for exercise during spring, summer and fall months.
