The Mount Panorama circuit in Australia isn’t the most forgiving place on Earth for a racing driver. There’s 571 feet of distance between it’s high and low points, there’s the Conrod Straight run that leads to The Chase and the hair-raising speeds seen, and the overall reputation of the track as one to be very careful with, with a sixteen-name death list to keep in mind. The speeds are wild and if you aren’t on your game even just a tiny bit, a minor miscalculation becomes a major incident and if you walk away with only your pride bruised, consider yourself a blessed individual. Such is the case for Will Davison, whose Audi R8 LMS went for a two-spin dance routine at the top of the mountain. Traveling at over 125 miles an hour, the Audi’s back end steps around…and around…and magically, winds up with the nose pointed the right way, not a scratch on the car, and no worries save maybe Davison’s blood pressure. And since there wasn’t any cameras going on the mountain top, the only footage of the incident is the on-board camera shot, which you can watch below:
