The super bowl of the pro touring world will take place tomorrow and Sunday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway as Optima once again hosts the Ultimate Street Car Invitational. The event is different for 2014 in the sense that it is being held at a different track (LVMS) and the duration of the competition is longer as well (two days instead of one). Oh, we should also mention that there are 100 cars in the competition instead of the normal 50 that have beat up on each other during years past. The two day format, despite the vastly increased number of cars, should give racers some more track time and that should allow everyone to get comfy with things like the autocross and the twisty road course at LVMS.

While we’re not showing you all of the cars that will be competing in the photos linked below we are showing you a bunch of them and the field is as varied as you’d hope it would be. Lamborghinis and Porches will be trading blows with Chevelle wagons, Pintos, Mustangs, Chevy trucks, and a couple more weirdos that eve we couldn’t have predicted. This event is the big one as far as races/competitions in the pro touring end of hot rodding and the winner here establishes him or herself as a top car builder or a top driver…or both as the case may be for some of these guys.
