It is pretty rare to see a video where things with four, THREE, AND two wheels are performing burnouts but such is the case throughout the Icon Drift 4K film that was screened as part of the Optima Ultimate Film Festival At SEMA 2015. This was definitely the high budget entry but that’s not being said in a negative light. This thing is well made, amazingly well put together, and really fun to watch. The best part? This is not the whole film but merely a piece of it and this piece sure is awesome.
From a classic Mustang fastback boiling the tires and sliding around to the sport bikes doing the same and then the three wheeled job (which sounds like a freaking F1 car) turning the trick as well, it really is something else. We have no idea what it costs to close roads in Miami but we’re guessing that it is not an inexpensive proposition. Now, they did it at night which was cool but it still has to cost a mint to get the access and shots that they wanted.
This one has kind of a fun plot line as well. We’re not going to give it away but if it involves Mexico and Miami you can pretty much start stringing the dots together to understand what the common bond is there, right?
I have said it before and I will say it again, the Optima Ultimate Film festival was an absolutely awesome event and one we hope goes on for a long time and one we hope to attend for a long time as well. There is nothing better than celebrating gearhead creativity and cool film making. We loved every second of this deal!
That was neat. I didn’t totally follow the plot but it didn’t matter. Neat film. The not so subtle jab at Ken Block made me grin.
