(By Eric Rood) – The SportsCar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) has quietly put together a tremendous little YouTube channel with great video recaps from their events, but this high-definition 2015 highlight reel in lurid slow motion nails what makes vintage racing so incredible. With everything from pre-war racers to late-model Formula 1 cars, the video takes more than a few slices of racing history and gives us motorsports voyeurs a near-pornographic experience.
The only thing missing is the glorious sound, though we’ll excuse the SVRA because the stunning visuals of vintage Trans Am cars cornering in a full four-wheel drift presses the right sexy buttons. While we love writing about motorsports history here at BangShift, we have to salute those who dust off the old equipment and thrash it around wheel to wheel against other priceless race cars.
