Mario Andretti was a household name when I was growing up watching him race at the Indy 500 and such. His career is insane, with more wins and championships than you can shake a stick at. But what really set Mario Andretti apart was just how much racing he did, in a variety of cars and racing types. He’s won at Indy, in F 1, at Daytona, and more. In Formula One cars, Indy cars, sports cars, stock cars, and more. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t drive if given the chance, and back then this was not the norm. As a result, younger Andrettis that followed would race in even more categories, including NHRA drag racing!
