(By Tom Lohnes) – The Mclaren Elva was maybe the craziest one yet with over 800 horsepower, no windshield, and an asking price pretty far north of 7 figures. Well notice how we said was? That’s because the new Mclaren Sabre is here and it looks vicious
Using a 4.0-liter V8 with 2 turbochargers attached to it, the Sabre makes 812 horsepower, 590 lb.-ft of torque, and sends it all to the rear wheels through a new 8-speed DCT. Outside, the Sabre is much more Senna-aggressive than P1-beautiful, with all sorts of wings, splitters, flaps, and vents on display. Inside, alcantara and carbon-fiber fans will be pleased, because those are the only two materials used in here short of the aluminum for the door handles, start button, and door latches. Interestingly, all 15 Sabres being made are US exclusive, not on purpose, but because all the billionaires who snatched them up happened to reside here. There are no confirmed performance numbers, but expect this thing to be every bit as neck-breakingly fast as the Senna.
This thing is in fact so new that we don’t have pricing info on it either. It is safe to say it will be above a million bucks, top speed will be over 200 miles per hour, and 0-60 will happen in well under 3 seconds. This is their most extreme car yet, and I love it.
