Well, when you have a car worth 10s of millions of dollar, even the most basic stuff skyrockets in price we guess. When we saw an ad for a single wheel on eBay for $150,000 we figured it was one of those situations where the person lists it for a crazy price to get some attention or something. Nope, we were 100% wrong. This is the real deal and the guy has six to sell at $150,000. That being said he is offering to reduce the price per item for anyone wanting to buy the whole set. Hell, maybe he’ll cleve $25,000 a piece off of the six wheels and they’ll only run you $750,000 for the group instead of the $900,000 they wold cost you full boat. Generosity!
If you have not guessed it already, these wheels are specifics to the Ferrari 250. There were a couple of models of the 250 produced and according to the ad, the seller claims that these babies are good on a 250 GTO, 250 GTE 2+2, and 250 GT SWB. He also said that he lost points at a judging because they were the wrong model year for his car. If we had enough dough to own a damned Ferrari GTO we’re not too sure we’d be concerned with what a guy in a bad hat and a clipboard had to say but then again, this is a realm of life we’ll never have to worry about being in.
There’s a single bare head for one of these cars on eBay right now as well for $98,000. So let’s just play a fun game. You can buy a single bare head and one wheel and be into the thing for about a quarter million dollars. OR you could buy four wheels and a single bare head and be into the thing for three quarters of million dollars. We live in interesting times.
WOW, I can’t imagine anyone will pay that kind of $$, when the original manufacturer(Borrani) is still in business, and has them listed on their website for $2209.09 USD before tax for a bare wheel (no spinners or tires. There is an option to add spinners and or tires as well, just click the buttons……

I was wondering if Dayton would be able to make an accurate set of repops, but having the original manufacturer still making them makes the price even weirder. I guess you’re not buying a wheel, you’re buying its history.
Plus the $24.66 shipping charge per wheel, I think that’s a bit steep!
I would demand a $750,000 discount because he is standing on those original, uber precious, date coded wheels.
